Am I suitable for semi permanent make up?
You cannot have semi permanent make up if any of the following apply
- you are under 18
- you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- you are currently undergoing chemotherapy/radiotherapy treatment

What is semi permanent make up? Semi permanent make up (eyebrows, lip blush and eyeliner) is where pigment is implanted beneath the surface of the skin. Semi permanent make up is a layering process in which we build colour slowly and safely into the area to be treated. Each new treatment cost includes two appointments 6-10 weeks apart.

Why is it 'semi' permanent make up? This is down to the products used, for each area of semi permanent make up we use only top quality pigments, rather than traditional tattoo inks. The technique in which the pigment is applied is why you need to have annual top ups to maintain your new area of semi permanent make up. Colour is slowly and safely built up in the skin, more superficially than that of a traditional tattoo.

How long is my appointment? Your initial appointment is approximately 2.5 hours long, followed by a 'touch up' appointment 6 weeks later which is 60-90 minutes. Included within your first appointment is the consultation where we decide on all factors of your new semi permanent make up together.

Do I have a choice of colours? Yes! There a multiple colours to choose from for lip blush and eyebrows, only when you are completely happy with our colour selection, do we begin your procedure. Please see examples in the 'eyebrows', 'lip blush' & 'eyeliner' pages.

What are the risks? Following the aftercare provided will give you the best healed results, failure to follow the aftercare will increase your chances of infection and/or scarring. When researching your permanent make up technician be sure to choose someone who is qualified, insured and safe in their clinic practice.

How long will it last? The longevity of your permanent make up can depend on a number of factors, adhering to the aftercare provided after your appointment will be the ultimate key to long lasting healed results. Colour boosts are recommended every 12-24 months as pigment gradually fades from the surface of the skin.

Some factors that will impact the longevity of your results are
- skin type
- sun exposure (including tanning beds)
- age
- use of vitamin A (retinol)/AHA/BHA/PHA products

Does semi permanent make up hurt? For each area of permanent make up the pain is none to minimal, a topical numbing agent is applied before we begin your procedure to ensure you are comfortable throughout.
Post Treatment Advice
Section Title
List Title
During the first two weeks of your healing process it is vital you keep your new semi permanent make up out of the sun, this includes sunbeds. I then recommend a facial SPF & an SPF lip balm of factor 30 or above all year round, to prevent premature fading
List Title
Minimal exercise is recommended for the first 10 days of healing. Excessive sweating can cause premature scabbing and loss of pigment. This includes
- swimming
- saunas
- steam rooms
List Title
FOR 10 DAYS DO NOT
- apply make up over the area following your appointment
- pick any areas of scabbing or flaking, should this occur
- have hot baths or showers
- apply face oils, serums or creams over the area
- get the area submerged in water
- use retinol/retinal products
- use AHA/BHA products
